Guide 01
What should a small-business website actually cost?
A website quote is easier to judge when you separate the visible pages from the work behind them. Strategy, copy, custom design, integrations, testing and post-launch support can change the effort more than the page count alone.
Compare the scope, not only the total
Ask whether the proposal includes message planning, responsive design, contact-form delivery, analytics, technical SEO, accessibility checks, training and launch support. A cheaper quote can cost more later if these basics are missing.
Choose the smallest site that supports the buyer journey
A one-page site can be enough for one clear offer. Multiple services, locations or buyer types usually need separate pages so people and search engines can understand each topic. The best scope is the simplest one that communicates the offer without forcing unrelated information together.
Guide 02
A local SEO checklist for service businesses
Local visibility starts with consistency. Your business name, services, locations and contact information should tell the same story everywhere a potential customer finds you.
- Complete and verify the appropriate Google Business Profile.
- Create useful pages for distinct services and real service areas.
- Use one clear page title, description and main heading per page.
- Keep names, addresses and phone details consistent across listings.
- Ask genuine customers for honest reviews and reply professionally.
- Connect Search Console and measure enquiries—not rankings alone.
Avoid producing near-identical pages for every town. A useful local page needs distinct information that helps someone in that area make a decision.
Guide 03
What a website maintenance plan should cover
Maintenance keeps an existing website secure, available and functional. It is different from adding new features, which changes the agreed product and should normally be estimated separately.
Routine care
Updates, backups, basic uptime checks and periodic form testing reduce the chance of preventable problems. The plan should state how often checks happen and who receives alerts.
Incident support
Define how to report a bug or outage, the hours in which support is available and the target response time. “Support included” is too vague unless those boundaries are written down.
Improvements
New pages, booking flows, integrations and other enhancements are valuable, but they are project work. Quoting them separately protects both sides and keeps the maintenance plan predictable.
